Are you a fair-weather leader? Take the assessment to find out.

Tree being blown by wind

Are you a fair-weather leader?

A 7 question assessment —

Be honest with yourself.

TRUE or FALSE

  • I take responsibility when my teams make mistakes.

  • I am comfortable approaching conflict head on.

  • I ask myself what I left out when an employee misunderstands something.

  • I keep my cool when an employee tells me “bad” news.

  • I give employees the attention they need even when it’s not convenient.

  • I make tough decisions with the speed required.

  • I am comfortable leading in a crisis.

If you answered “FALSE” to any of these, you may be a fair-weather leader.

You can’t build a high performing company with this kind of leadership.

These leaders build mistrust and stifle creativity. (And arguably, aren’t even leaders at all.)

The good news — There is a way out.

🍋 If you find that you answered negatively make note of it. Literally write the statement on a note and place it on your desk.

🍋 Read through it each day. This will help you to be mindful of the change you want to make.
