For the busy leader who hears many complaints about the number and/or length of meetings:
Book: The Surprising Science of Meetings [book/audiobook] from Steven G. Rogelberg
Useful Learning: It's critical to delegate roles to meeting attendees. Make sure everyone knows why they are there and what you need from them during the meeting.
Warning: You might need to read this book even if you feel like your organization doesn't have a problem with meetings. The people who love meetings are the ones that run them.
For the mid-level leader that's ready to take their leadership to the next level:
Book: Nine Lies about Work [book/audiobook] from Marcus Buckingham and Ashley Goodall
Useful Learning: People don't care which company they work for, they care which team they work for.
Warning: Must have an open mind to read. This book will likely debunk some of your closest held beliefs about leadership.
For the leader that is looking to be 1) more inspirational or 2) more inspired:
Book: Start with Why [book/audiobook] from Simon Sinek
Useful Learning: Using incentives to keep good employees is shortsighted. If money is the sole reason your employees stay, they are all just one better offer away from quitting.
Warning: This book could inspire you to change the entire trajectory of your career.
