Here’s what to do instead. 👇

Use my AFFIRMATION FORMULA.

  1. Be specific. What specifically did the do well? How did it affect you/the team/the customer.

  2. Be sincere. When you’re specific you’re more than half way to being sincere.

Good words of affirmation should look like this:

Thanks for [specific behavior] it [affect the behavior had on you / the team / the company].

Why go to the trouble? This kind of feedback increases employee morale and helps employees to know the specific things they are doing well (so they can repeat them! ☺️ ).
