Bypass the Burnout

Bunch of matches, some burnt

Experiencing burnout? Maybe you should have a "Slackout"?

This is a phrase one of my clients used with me and think it's brilliant.

We were discussing ways to cope with burnout and she explained that she was encouraging her team to have a "Slackout".

For her team, this meant they were completely signing out of Slack after 6pm and on the weekends. Her employees were already reporting:

-More quality time at home
-Clearer thinking during the workday
-Improved mental health

If your team doesn't use Slack, you might consider signing out of your email, instant messaging device, or whatever project management system that you use.

Want to take it a step further - consider taking these device off your phone entirely. This may not work for everyone, but many people find it helpful and manageable to only receive this communication when they are at their computer, i.e. WORKING.
